Bills Gone Wild.

Ever lose all your friends in the Twitterverse because your wireless data plan forced you take out a second loan on your home?

Sorry, Dustin.  We feel your pain.

So what’s the deal?  It’s 2010 and small business’ still get the brunt of wireless waste.

We’ve said it before… and we’ll beat that drum again.  Here’s the brass tacks.

Every second, wireless carriers overbill somebody $808…

I’m speechless.

That’s why I have to write this done.

When is enough to where we have to act?

OK.  I’m getting wound up.  Here’s what I know.

You WILL save something.  “How much” is the mystery…

Go here now!

Yeah, I manage right, I’m a pro!

Cell phone bills hurt, they cause pain.

Whether it’s your daughter texting hunky Juan from Ecuador or your wife’s love of voting for American Idol over and over, it hurts your wallet.

Now let’s imagine for a second instead of your family plan you had hundreds of naughty children on your bill? (It’s painful, right?) That is the pain that thousands of unlucky business owners around our great nation have to put up with every month.

Yep, whether it’s your favourite sports team or your local hospital or even your firm, there is an unfortunate member of your staff scratching his head and reaching for the Advil.

“Somebody has to sort through these bills!”

Maybe it’s an IT guy or an unfortunate member of AP or even the big boss getting the highlighter out and weeding through the menagerie himself.  It’s like a visit to the dentist when that bill arrives every month.

Now before you start to feel too sorry for these guys let me tell you what they could be doing….handing it over to the pros.

“But in a time of such economic uncertainty they can’t afford to spend big bucks on outsourcing” I hear you cry.  You are correct, they can’t. They need to save money not spend more”. Correct again.”

Enter the shameless execs at ManageRight Pro.

And “enter” they should.

Telebright ‘s brand new service offering, ManageRight Professional, finds the fraud, waste, and abuse in your bill before you feel the need to pay the bill so your lights saty on.

The pro’s at ManageRight take it one step further by picking up the phone and shouting at the carriers for you, so you can spend more time on your real jobs or twitter or whatever.

No more questions like “why are we paying Kevin’s bill when he left in April” or “why has Jennifer ordered 4 palm pri’s”.  You may even use this extra free time to crack a smile, who knows?

So I’m sorry we haven’t solved your daughter’s long distance Latin lover text problem or stopped the wife from making sure her favourite singer isn’t eliminated.

But there is something you can do though, that is the next time you walk past Brian in IT or Barbara in AP when there doing the wireless auditing (and breaking out in a cold sweat) mention ManageRight Pro.

Who knows they may even send you a Christmas card this year, wouldn’t that be nice.

I’m Sam.  Sam Mitchell.  And ManageRight Pro is where you can find me ranting.

Call me at 301-296-3922 (or email smitchell@managerightpro.com) with your company’s wireless bill.

If I can’t save you money, I owe you a million bucks (or postage stamps of comparable value).  It’s not you.  I am betting your carrier isn’t playing fair.

Shocking Bill Shock

If you haven’t heard, there’s a new sheriff at the FCC who wants to help the 30 million Americans who experience “bill shock” each month.  Which kind of makes us wonder.

How much more does it need to be to shock you?

At just a dollar a month that’s $350 million a year.  At $10 per month that’s almost $4 billion bucks.

Sure $4 billion is a lot of money, but we were just talking about a lousy ten spot.  Right?

You don’t get shocked until you pay $50, $75, maybe $100 more per month.

Name a number.  Disagree with me.  Who cares. At some point it no longer matters.

It’s gazillions. And that is shocking…

What do you think?

Don’t get up or anything, but we did want to bring this little fun fact to your attention.

$25.5 billion is spent wasted each year by businesses not being able to understand or control their wireless charges

hmmm…..
With all that extra loot, it makes you wonder why reception still stinks.

How to Avoid Mobile Phone Bill Shock: 5 Fixes

We were just reading the following story and had to comment.

A recent survey by the FCC found that about one in six cell phone users has experienced what the agency appropriately enough calls “bill shock,” an unexpected spike in a monthly bill…”

The other 5:

  1. Mortgaged their property to pay the bill…
  2. Started drinking more…
  3. Call to complain and got left on hold for 45 minutes…

(All the above?)

Amazing feedback from the Big Cheese in Washington, DC.

”We are hearing from consumers about unpleasant surprises on their bills,” Joel Gurin, FCC Chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau said in a press release last month. “This is an avoidable problem. Avoiding bill shock is good for consumers and ultimately good business for wireless carriers as well.”

Question: Is that the same thing as saying, “It’s not cool to screw over your customers.”

(ManageRight S-I-G-H…)

Oh well.  Back to saving small businesses.  We’ll head over with ice packs and wasabi…
